The Universal Audio SD-7 is a robust, professional-grade dynamic microphone designed for drums, guitar/bass cabs, brass, and high-SPL instruments. It features a fixed hyper-cardioid pickup pattern for excellent off-axis rejection, a wide frequency range (30 Hz–17 kHz), and high SPL handling, making it ideal for demanding sources. What sets the SD-7 apart is its inclusion of the Hemisphere mic-modeling plug-in. With this software you can emulate five classic microphone profiles (DN-421B, DN-421S, RB-160, DN-409U, DN-441) and adjust axis, proximity, and filter settings — even after tracking — giving you incredible tonal flexibility. Built with a hand-selected dynamic capsule and rugged all-metal construction, the SD-7 is built to endure studio and live use. Each unit includes an integrated stand mount with angle adjustment, ⅝″ to ⅜″ adapter, and storage pouch, making setup straightforward.
